There's just a little bit of glee in swatching a polish sent from a friend. Not only do I like the shade of this one, but the bottle is swanky too...
This one doesn't have a particular brand name, unless it is the 'FCC', nor a distinct name, just the '22' on the bottom. The one thing I am sure of is that something happened on the way to the theater...what in the world??!
This is interesting and I am sure it has happened to others; the polish looks blotchy and patchy in the photos. But it didn't look like that in real life. I used 3 coats for this look and no top coat. I am going to give this one another try because it had to be the lighting in the room when I was polishing them that made it look like it was giving great, smooth coverage. I'll have to sit at the sunny window and do this one; not in the dark living room in front of the TV.
Gads! I don't know if I want to go any further with this one. Only my index finger is close to looking OK.
Well, I was going to name this one 'Theater Seats' because it reminds me of the old town theater I used to go to. I'd hate to see what those seats looked like in broad daylight too!
Have you ever had a polish go demonic on you?

Orly's Rococoa A Go-Go and a Vampire's Coffin
What have we here? Duochrome? Hotness? Word!!
This is Orly's 'Rococoa A Go-Go'. Orly had this mad collection called Mineral FX that was released last year, I believe. If you yell out 'Sparkly Duochrome,' I'm going to do my best tobunch push everyone else out of the way to get mine. :)
Something about this shade is spooky or alien. That's how it gets into the Halloween Vanity Hall of Fame. Maybe it's a shade of a coffin's lining!
Don't let the mani scare you though. I didn't 'wrap' the polish around the tips. I find that this is more noticeable the longer my nails get, for some reason.
There is not one thing 'flat' about 'Rococoa A Go-Go.' It's bold and flashy and wants to be admired...
I have on 2 coats of polish with a top coat of Lumos. Lumos is touted as the replacement to Seche Vite. As soon as I get more information on this wonderful top coat, I'll share it. However, it has a helluva shine.
I got something funky going on with my middle nail with this mani. I think this is when I failed to fix a broken (coffin??) nail. I did cut it down, sadly, after this mani. But that cliche of 'oh, I broke a nail' doesn't even sit well with me at the pink vanity.
As much as this flashes as a duochrome in the bottle, it wouldn't do that on my nails. Rats! However, that deep burgundy is the same color of the lining of a vampire's coffin.
Have you seen a vampire's coffin? Which would freak you out more, to find it occupied or....empty????

Vampiest Polish Shades Found at Forever 21
Just a short little haul today.
I stopped by Forever 21 at the mall I did some work at just today. I wasn't going to stop in, but I'm obsessed I'll miss something new.
What I found wasn't so much as new as it was just new to me. Also, I needed a gift.
Take a look at the goods...
Named 'Midnight', this Forever 21, love & beauty polish looks just like a starry sky. It reminds me of the Hubble space photos of far universes.
The base is a blackened blue, and then it is chalk-full of micro glitter that seems mostly silver. However, and I can't tell for sure, there are either different colored micro glitters in there, or that silver is refracting a rainbow of shades. Even swatched on a white sheet of paper I'm not quite sure.
This one is new to me. I don't think I've seen it before. This is called 'Black.' But, what we have here is black glitter. The base is clear but it is loaded with a lot of black glitter and micro-glitter. I got this to tide me over til I get Wet 'n Wild's 'Tangled in My Web', which you can look at here and see Vampy Varnish's swatch of it. It seems that 'Black' is more densely packed with glitter though. I'll do a comparison or, just a swatch of 'Black' if I can't find 'Tangled...' soon enough.
This is another one that seems just right for the Halloween season...
You're checking out 'Burgundy.' But, as you scan through these photos, it's not always 'Burgundy,' now is it? Duochrome, Honey Child!
Oh. You noticed there were two 'Burgundy' bottles? Shhh....one is a gift for someone very special.
Is there one you like better than the other? I'm truly interested...are my hauls and swatches of Forever 21's love & beauty polishes of interest to you? Does it create lemmings?

Blinded By the Light; Glitter A-Bomb
The elusive Wet 'n Wild 'Black Magic' polish DOES exist!!!
Don't bother going to this Walgreens; I took all three of those 'Black Magic' polishes. Can you see my reflection in the back of the display? That's creepy.
Here's what the clammer has been about...
Black glittery good stuff! I'm doing a mani right now and I am using 'Black Magic' as an accent nail. I'll have this one up in a couple of days.
If you haven't heard about the mystery of the Wet 'n Wild's 2 different 'Black Magic' polishes, I wrote about it here. The multi-display, that has other makeup products, shown at the top, has the sparkly 'Black Magic.' The displays that I have seen at Ulta's, has the black creme. Technically, I think the one I got above should be named 'MORE Black Magic.'
This is what I got when I stepped into Icing today...
The charmed look of this brings out the magpie in me. Oh, it was 50%; $4.25.
And the polishes are always buy one, get one 1/2 off (BUT, I did ask today and was told that does NOT apply to the crackle. I didn't see a sign that said that though...just sayin'). I found one and I had a hard time picking that second one...
All this sparkle can give you a migraine. You best sit in the dark after this post. No joke!
Icing's 'Glitteratti' has a rainbow of micro-glitter and the hard-to-miss fuchsia hex glitter. And then, 'Gimme Some Glitter' has a murky burgundy base (which looks like black when swatched on white paper) with gold, teal, fuchsia and purple glitter. It's very busy, but in a GOOD way!
It was a busy day at work for me, but I managed to get that shopping in! *wink* I got some more loot at the Dollar Store to show you later.
What base colors do you think 'Glitteraffi' and 'Gimme Some Glitter' should go over? If you find the sparkly 'Black Magic,' are you getting it?

Dusty Shopping in My Own Backyard
Do you know what shopping for 'dusties' is? It's where you go to stores that sell nail polish, or maybe did at one time, and you look for those old bottles that are sitting back on the shelves collecting dust. I've even heard it to be asking a store, like Sally's, to bring up from the back office, any polishes they have pulled that didn't sell. Think of it as a nail polish scavenger hunt. And the Holy Grail is to find a long-lost hard to find shade. This will not only make you 'squuueeeee!' but when you blog about it, all your nail blogger friends will 'squuuuueeeee' too and they will give you accolades of admiration at your success.
I've done a bit of this myself, early on in my blogging life. But today, I did it in my own home. Yep, I have so many unswatched bottles. I was digging through them a week ago and pulled out all these vampy, dark Halloween-ish shades.
Here's my first one to show....
Sinful Color's 'Rich in Heart' is just the deep, inky burgundy with a bit of sparkle that looks hot. Smoldering hot. The base is black but there is so much of that dark burgundy shimmer that it all comes together like a cold, dark rainy night...
I have no idea how I got a bit of a finger print smudge on my pinky. I guess there's always going to be something to keep me from capturing that awesome effect. I had a great thumb photo but there was that one piece of fuzz hair....grrr...if it isn't on my nails, it's in my eye; I swear!!! *darts eyes quickly at Libby*
This is just 2 coats. I used a bottom coat and a top coat by Color Club's Eco set of each. That top coat makes a killer shine. I can almost see my reflection in my nails too.
In the shade, it's almost totally black. Lady vampire nails, yes? YES!
Down-right saucy!!!
I love vampy, dark blackened shades. What color is your favorite to see blackened?

Orly's Fall Color with 'Rock the World'
Orly's Mineral FX is one hot Fall collection. I grabbed 'em up! Let me show you why...
Check out 'Rock the World'. Oh, yea!
Velvety, shimmery burgundy purple. I have on three coats here with one topcoat of Nailene's 'Miracle Maker.'
I don't know if anyone else is calling this a duochrome but if I can see burgundy one way and then copper another way...that's my description of a duochrome. This copper flash is what 'Rock the World' does in the shade.
Now look back at it in the direct sunlight. Back to burgundy.
A closer look and you can see the copper/antique gold micro-glitter in this. And there is a LOT.
I got mine at Ulta, but you can also find this at some Sally's.
I will admit, this did 'Rock the World' for me. I love it. This is one that could be revisited for the Christmas holiday as well, making it more worthwhile to purchase.
Would you like to add this to your Fall wish list?
