I'm Working on a 14 Days to Valentine's Day Marathon

Posted by Libby's Pink Vanity at 1/23/2011 06:27:00 PM
I ended up with a virus on my computer last night.  It blocks every function except the one to purchase their anti-virus/spyware program.  Since I will not be forced into purchasing something I do not want or have no need for (wait...why didn't the virus protecters I have not catch this???), this incidious malware now connects me to porn.

So I'm laid up, so to speak.  My hubs has 'generously' allowed me to 'borrow' time on his computer.  But since I got a virus on mine, he is very leary (even more so) to allow me on his computer.  The only reason I've been able to use his computer is because of all the football this weekend.  *sigh*

Anyhoo, on to the subject of this blog.  :)  I'm working on a 14 Day Marathon of Valentine's Day inspired manicures.  I did race up to Ulta today and get the 4-pack mini's of Katy Perry's OPI collection along with a Shatter.  I'm looking forward to adding in a Shatter look with at least one of these upcoming pinks.

Next weekend ends my Stinkin' Cute giveaway.  And there will be another one right on the heels of that one!  Stay tuned!

The same thing happened to me with my computer. The weird thing is that there was a program advising me to download the program for "anti-virus" but it just caused more problems. Eventually I caved in and got Norton 360 and no problems since then! :)

Oh my other half infected my computer with that the other week. This is what i did to mend it.
Restart computer in safe mode
Scan with Spybot and CCleaner
Virus scan
restore to previous point
And then it worked when I restarted it. There is probably a better way of doing it but thats what I tried in that order and I got rid of it.
People who create these viruses are scum!!!!
I've just posted some nautical nails on my blog which strongly feature hearts.

I had that happen in November or December. I did almost what Stacie did but when I was in smart mode I saved all my files and stuck them onto an external hard drive and then set my computer back to factory condition just to be sure. I probably went too far and I lost all my bookmarks but I don't have to worry anymore :)
I don't understand why people create viruses. What kind of joy do they get in ruining people's computers?

Yeah, I got a similar one after loaning my husband my laptop for one day. He downloaded a program and it came with the malware. Stupid thing would start ads and we'd here audio and then the pop-up would show up. I installed AVG and ran the cleaner and it found and cured the problem for FREE. It's not completely clear, I get some error messages when I first log in - basically telling me that the registry entry is still there and it's looking for a program I've deleted, but there's no other problems now.
My boss got the one you've got I think, it commandeered his desktop and everything. Took our IT contractor HOURS to clean it up. Good luck, I hope you can get it fixed easy and for a low cost. One more reason to leave Windows and go to Linux I suppose. :)

Oh, Girls!! It's worse than a virus! My hard drive shut down. Took a crap! So, it's in the computer hospital getting a transplant. Hopefully, I'll get it later tonight or early tomorrow. I not only am addicted to this box of electronics, but I do all my work reports on it. Thus, it's a necessity.
