Sample Saturday: Jergens Body Lotion

In my Target swag bag, a few months back, I got a sample pouch of Jergens body lotion. I like body lotion samples as it is about the only way I'll take a chance on a new brand of lotion. I was really impressed with Jergens.

 That led me to purchase Jergens Ultra Healing in the full size bottle. I just finished that and got the Shea Butter lotion. Just what my skin needs...

Even though I liked the sample of Jergens original, and I really liked the Ultra Healing lotion, I'm loving the Shea Butter lotion. The fragrances are great and the lotions absorb into my skin very well. Yet, this Shea Butter is something my skin soaks up and makes it so smooth. I'm extra dry during the winter months. And when my skin gets dry, I feel itchy. Jergens lotion really is healing as it soothes my skin and makes it feel supple. The price is decent and if you watch for coupons, I do see Jergens products often.

Here's why I'm such a fan of Shea butter. I did a review on raw Shea Butter here and went on about how much I loved it.

Just a little while back, I purchased, at Walgreens, this polish from the new display by Sally Hansen. I photographed 'Pumpkin Spice' while in the store. I just couldn't get past the thought of buying Halloween stuff when the back to school stuff is still out. Hell, most schools haven't started back.

Then I saw some 'Pumpkin Spice' swatches and I was terribly smittened.

 

 

 This looks like embers smoldering in a campfire. And to achieve this total look, I used Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear 'Black Out.' "Pumpkin Spice' can't truly stand alone and get this hot look.

I can't say that this is 'just in time for Halloween', however, I will say that this will, more than likely, NOT be around for Halloween. I could be wrong but I wouldn't chance it.

And I have had more than just a couple of Tweet friends say that 'Pumpkin Spice' is hard to find. Well, that won't do! So...I'm having a giveaway. And not just one set of 'Pumpkin Spice' and 'Black Out', but two prizes of this set. Wheeeeee!

The Latest Giveway~Southern Magnolia Minerals

One of my favorite companies to do business with is Southern Magnolia Minerals. I have been a customer for over 8 years.

Created and owned by Barb Huffman, she started her business in 2001, which had been a dream of hers since she was a child. She mixes, creates, sorts, fills, packages and ships everything herself, with the help of her husband and daughter. Barb is very passionate about her business and I have yet to find such a caring business owner as her. The other favorite item I LOVE from SMM is the 'Shine Reduction Powder' and the 'Translucent Finishing Veil'. Barb is a Southern gal and she knows what it takes to keep a nose powdered. Even though I have dry skin, I can still get shiny from the Florida heat. I have my 'Finishing Veil' to the rescue. Literally, I carry a dispensing brush of 'Finishing Veil' in my makeup bag and in the console of my car.

Right on the jar, you can read the ingredients. And just like the mineral foundation, it has an SPF 10+. If SPF is not important to you in your skin makeup, you need to rethink that!

Besides the 'Shine Reduction Powder' and the 'Translucent Finishing Veil', I purchased a sample of 'Petal Pink HD Illuminizer'. It's an extremely soft, very delicate pink finishing powder that will help perk up a youthful glow on my face. This was a new item for me to try and I love how subtle the illuminizer is. It is not a girly-sleep-over glitter. It's the 'yea, I know how to take care of my skin' glow. (More on the 'Silk Kiss Glow' this week.)

Throughout the next week, I'm going to highlight (hee hee...secret pun!) the different products from Southern Minerals Makeup. I want to share with you why I have been a loyal customer to this makeup for 8 years. I want to tell you what products are working for me.
