Give me a creme polish and I'll, eventually, look for a way to get glitter on it...
This is a one coat black creme....seriously!!! Maria, owner and creator of, Cult Nails has done what no one else could; make a one-coat black creme. Kari, from Once Bitten Blog, came up with the PERFECT name too: 'Nevermore'. I wore 'Nevermore' for two days before playing with glitter. So, as you may notice, there is hardly any tip wear. 'Nevermore' is so shiny that I didn't even need a top coat either.
Before I removed 'Nevermore', I did four glitter effects on each hand...
On my right hand, I used: NK Nail Enamel in 'Magical' (thumb); Orly in 'It's A Meteor' (index finger); Cult Nails in 'Captivated' (middle finger); Wet 'n Wild in 'Bow In My Presence' (ring finger); and my pinky is bare.
Now on my left hand...
Starting with my thumb: Cult Nails in 'Happy Ending' (thumb); Orly in 'Be Brave' (index finger); China Glaze in 'Luxe and Lush' (middle finger); ring finger is bare; love & beauty in 'Clear/Silver' (pinky). I like how the sunlight bounced off 'Happy Ending'.
Years ago, when I wore black nail polish, I was so 'goth' about it. It seemed deviant. But today, I don't think anyone thinks twice about seeing it or wearing it. At least for me, I didn't notice anyone pulling their children away from being around me.
Want to wear a one-coat black creme proudly? You can order yours at Cult Nails. And you can order 'Happy Ending' and 'Captivated', that I used, as well.
Do you take a walk on the wild side...wear black nail polish?

Cult Nails: Charming and Happy Ending From The Fairy Tale Collection
Happy June!!! The newest collection from Cult Nails is soon to be released. This one is called the Fairy Tale collection. I adore the shades in this collection because they remind me of one of my new, favorite shows: Once Upon A Time.
Here are the first two that I tried...
This is 'Charming' and 'Happy Ending'.
If you like lavender or a soft purple, you will be charmed by 'Charming'. This polish has just a hint of magenta flash to it. You have to look deep to see it but it is what gives 'Charming' its special spell. I have on three coats here. And man, Cult Nails dries so fast for me. Good thing because I can't sit still.
And, adding onto that with a 'Happy Ending', well, it couldn't get any more perfect...
'Happy Ending' is like nothing I have or, have seen. It's flakies that look like shards of colored glass. And these pieces lay down flat, no roughness. I didn't have to go fishing for them either. Joy! Happy Ending!
Look forward to seeing the rest of the collection as I will be swatching them as well. But, don't wait on me; go to Cult Nails and order your collection today.
Don't you love fairy tale collections?

Forever 21's Love & Beauty: Pink Star Glitter Polish
Pink stars remind me of a childhood cereal...
I would have thought those free stickers in the box would have been neat. If kids got those today, they'd be so pissed they'd punch their Mom.
This polish is a bit punchy too. I got it at Forever 21 and since it is pink, I had to get it...
I knew what I was getting myself into with those sparse glittery stars: it was going to be hard to get them onto my nails. But, looking at them in the bottle made them so inviting...
I have already reviewed the base color I used, Milani's 'Hot Pink Frenzy' here. And this is what it looks like with Pink Star glitter polish as a top coat...
I had to fish out the stars. And honestly, I didn't fish too hard. I knew too many glittery stars were going to be hard to remove later. I did like the glitter over the Milani creme pink though. And the sparse stars made the look more of an accent than a full-blown starry look.
These two polishes played very well together. I used 2 coats of the Pink Stars. That seemed to be just the right amount of charm for me.
I was not too partial to Lucky Charms. The marshmallows were the only tasty part. I liked Captain Crunch with Crunch Berries. Do you like Lucky Charms?

China Glaze: Ray-Diant From The Prismatic 2012 Collection
China Glaze recently came out with a collection called Prismatic 2012. Here is 'Ray-Diant' from this collection...
Even though there is a strong pull of silver showing in this color, upon a closer look, it does have a green tinge to it.
This is three coats, but only 2 on my thumb...
I have no polish under 'Ray-Diant' so there is visible nail line.
This polish is nothing but jam-packed with glitter...
As I mentioned, the prominent color is a silvery-green. But, there is also a sprinkling of a darker green along with magenta too. It makes for a fun look...
The only downfall is that I am underwhelmed by the Prismatic 2012 collection. In fact, I almost passed on it, entirely. Even though I do feel the colors are fun and pretty, just like with 'Ray-Diant', I don't feel it is something all that unique to me. However, I did get enjoyment out of wearing this one.
I didn't apply a top coat so, the nails did feel slightly gritty. That doesn't bother me unless it starts snagging my clothes. As you may imagine, removal is a chore. Make sure you allow yourself plenty of time for that or, you will feel frustrated. I use Zoya's Remove+ as it is more gentle on my nails and cuticles than regular polish remover.
Share your thoughts with me about the Prismatic 2012 collection. Yay or nay?

China Glaze's The Hunger Games; Electrify
China Glaze, recently, came out with a collection called 'The Hunger Games'. I do live under a rock but even I know about this book series and that the movie was a financial success. I think this polish from the collection is a success as well...
I was eager to swatch this one called 'Electrify'. Heck, even in the shade it looks like it is on fire...
The base is a transparent copper with gold and blood red glitter. This is what one coat looks like...
I swiped it over 'Foie Gras' (from the same collection), which I reviewed here. It didn't come out as great as I had envisioned it would...
Uhm, yea...pass! But don't pass on either of them; they are both worth getting. 'Electrify' can come back for a visit around Christmas, I say.
This I gotta share; check out this caterpillar I had riding on my car...
Seriously, it is one weird insect!! That red dot, the head ???, was super bright. I hope it grows up to be something splendid. Kind of eery I'd come upon some insect that has gold and red on it...like the polish...[cue Twilight Zone music.]
Anyone know what this is???

Milani's Twinkle: Jammin' Good Blue & Purple Glitter
A new polish added to my collection is this super-duper glitter...
Milani continues to make glitter that is spell-bounding, pigmented and just plain fun! This is 'Twinkle.' You can't get much bluer in color than this.
I have on just 2 coats of 'Twinkle.' I didn't get complete opaqueness but from a normal distance, it was not that obvious. A third coat for me would have gotten rid of the see-through.
'Twinkle' is made up of brilliant blue and violet glitter. It is jammin' in that polish, I tell ya!
The last photo is in the shade. It washes out in color, but I like the look of it. It shows the real brilliance of the polish.
As with almost all glitter polishes, this one wasn't easy to remove. However, it did apply well and wasn't super gritty. Oh, and this manicure was over 2 days old. There's barely any tip wear.
Is 'Twinkle' a glitter polish you can jam on?

Milani's Spring Collection: Orchidia and Lavender Fizz
Milani Cosmetics was a big sponsor for the Central Florida Beauty Bloggers last month. We got the opportunity to preview a lot of their spring collection. And the nail polishes were PRIME!
Here is the first shade I chose to try out...
This is 'Orchidia'. Make sure you look closely because 'Orchidia' is NOT a creme. There is a shimmer in this that is as dainty as gossamer fairy wings. This shade is so nice that even my camera played nice with it. This is a very good reproduction of the color.
But there was another polish in there that made a spectacular match. The glitter polish is 'Lavender Fizz.' And it is a darling glitter bomb...
It's filled up with purple glitter. 'Lavender Fizz' is a one of Milani's One Coat Glitter polishes. So, I used a very thin coat of it over 'Orchidia'. Perfect!...
These 2 polishes are right on trend with the brighter pastels of spring. Milani polishes, as well as their other makeup products, are known for being highly pigmented. Both 'Orchidia' and 'Lavender Fizz' live up to both the color trend and coverage.
I used 2 coats of 'Orchidia' and one thin coat of 'Lavender Fizz'. I didn't need a top coat because 'Lavender Fizz' is not only sparkly but it's shiny too. And these polishes wore without a chip or wear for 2 days.
Can you see the mileage one could get from just these two Milani polishes?
The products reviewed in this post were provided by the maker/distributor. All opinions are my own.

Wet 'N Wild's Bejeweled Collection
The entire weekend, I had planned to stay home and chill. However, when my friend, Alli of nifty_ba, shared a quick Facebook chat, that all changed. She told me that the Winn Dixie grocery store near me had the new Be Jeweled collection from Wet 'n Wild. Off I went to see what I could snag.
These are the jewels that I came home with...
From the left: The Crown Is Mine; Jewels For Your Highness; Born Into Privilege; Bow In My Presence. What is missing is: Speak When Spoken To.
They are all sparkly with micro glitter and small glitter, mixed up into a look meant for royalty.
Who could wait to swatch one of these? Resistance is futile, in my case...
Since I couldn't decide which one first, I reached into the bag and pulled one out. The winner: 'The Crown Is Mine'. The primary color is a light lavender shade and it is not showing in the photos. But you can see the small glitter in shades of blue, magenta and silver.
I knew that 'The Crown Is Mine' was going to be thin. I looked for a very neutral pink to use as a base coat. This helped bring out the sizzle in this polish. This is the swatch with a light pink creme underneath.
Here is a test of just 'The Crown Is Mine' without a base color...
Nice and very dainty. Yet, I wanted to give the polish a bit more of a grandstand. And, with a light pastel creme polish from Color Club as 'underwear', that is what I got...
I found it interesting that even though it is a glitter polish, it didn't take scrubbing to remove it. I used Zoya's Remove+ and it works splendidly.
It was a very bright and hot day today in Central Florida. Yet, in the shade, 'The Crown Is Mine' shimmers. However, let me explain, the glitter is one I would not refer to as 'in your face'. It is subtle...
And that makes it perfect for Spring.
Take a look at my friend Alli's blog, nifty_ba. She shows looks of the day and she is just as cute as a button to model them too.
The nail polish universe has gifted us with a plethora of glitters lately. Or, so it seems. Are you still in a glitter mood? What do you think of the newest Wet 'n Wild collection 'Be Jeweled'?
