As if the movie, The Hunger Games', wasn't popular enough, the collection by the same name from China Glaze is being sold out in stores. I'm glad I got my set early!
If you didn't get any, you can live through my photos...
I was prepared to regret 'Fast Track'. I already have a crate full of taupes. But, this one is special. Yep. And that specialness is a pistol to capture in a photo...
'Fast Track' is a taupe that has a golden shimmer. In fact, when I roll it in the light, it also seems to have a bit of an iridescent shimmer as well.
I have the typical 3 coats and it was a pleasure to apply. Not one bit of a problem...
This is a polish I'd recommend to someone who wants to wear a nude tone but still wants a bit of spice. 'Fast Track' is a charmer.
I have Color Club's Vivid Color Intensifying top coat on to finish off the look...
OK, so I'm going to be an outcast waiting for The Hunger Games to come out on Amazon videos. But, I'm really happy I didn't wait to snag the entire China Glaze polish collection.
Did you get your polishes? Did you get this one?

China Glaze: Ray-Diant From The Prismatic 2012 Collection
China Glaze recently came out with a collection called Prismatic 2012. Here is 'Ray-Diant' from this collection...
Even though there is a strong pull of silver showing in this color, upon a closer look, it does have a green tinge to it.
This is three coats, but only 2 on my thumb...
I have no polish under 'Ray-Diant' so there is visible nail line.
This polish is nothing but jam-packed with glitter...
As I mentioned, the prominent color is a silvery-green. But, there is also a sprinkling of a darker green along with magenta too. It makes for a fun look...
The only downfall is that I am underwhelmed by the Prismatic 2012 collection. In fact, I almost passed on it, entirely. Even though I do feel the colors are fun and pretty, just like with 'Ray-Diant', I don't feel it is something all that unique to me. However, I did get enjoyment out of wearing this one.
I didn't apply a top coat so, the nails did feel slightly gritty. That doesn't bother me unless it starts snagging my clothes. As you may imagine, removal is a chore. Make sure you allow yourself plenty of time for that or, you will feel frustrated. I use Zoya's Remove+ as it is more gentle on my nails and cuticles than regular polish remover.
Share your thoughts with me about the Prismatic 2012 collection. Yay or nay?

China Glaze's The Hunger Games; Electrify
China Glaze, recently, came out with a collection called 'The Hunger Games'. I do live under a rock but even I know about this book series and that the movie was a financial success. I think this polish from the collection is a success as well...
I was eager to swatch this one called 'Electrify'. Heck, even in the shade it looks like it is on fire...
The base is a transparent copper with gold and blood red glitter. This is what one coat looks like...
I swiped it over 'Foie Gras' (from the same collection), which I reviewed here. It didn't come out as great as I had envisioned it would...
Uhm, yea...pass! But don't pass on either of them; they are both worth getting. 'Electrify' can come back for a visit around Christmas, I say.
This I gotta share; check out this caterpillar I had riding on my car...
Seriously, it is one weird insect!! That red dot, the head ???, was super bright. I hope it grows up to be something splendid. Kind of eery I'd come upon some insect that has gold and red on it...like the polish...[cue Twilight Zone music.]
Anyone know what this is???

Dress Me Up For The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games is the first blockbuster movie of the year. Have you seen it yet? How about China Glaze snapping up the rights to have The Hunger Games nail polish collection? This shade is just about for everyone...
'Dress Me Up' is a pinkish-taupe creme. I didn't expect to like it. However, once I applied it, I was smitten.
I applied 3 coats. However, you can still see a patch or two of nail balding. That is one of the difficulties of creme nail polish. But, in real life, you really have to scrutinize to see this flaw. And I think this shade would be a nice base for shatter polish or nail stamping.
'Dress Me Up' is a warm color and yet, it is a neutral that is partial to being perfect for a wedding, as well as to wearing to work. And it might be so neutral in color that almost all skin tones can wear this one easily.
Very shiny without a top coat, I have applied 3 coats. 'Dress Me Up' is a pleasant surprise; I like it very much.
How about you? Do you like this color?

Sinful Color's Cast Away In The Grecian Sun
Keeping up with the new collections can be difficult. I fall in love with the one I am wearing and don't want to move on to the next swatch. This is exactly what happened with this Sinful Colors polish from the Cast Away collection. Check out 'Grecian Sun'...
This is a bright, robin's egg blue and it is to die for. Considering it's a creme, I'm really loving 'Grecian Sun'. I'm super fussy about the blue polishes I like and this one nails it. I have on 3 coats...
I tried to get away with just 2 but it was patchy, as seen on my index finger.
Then, after a couple of days, I wanted to mix it up, a bit, before moving on to another shade. This one looks more like sea than sun, though...
Can you just imagine the sun's rays reflecting off the Grecian Sea from a hot 'Grecian Sun'? I adore this look. I used China Glaze's 'Luxe and Lush' from the Hunger Games collection. I just don't think it gets any more spring-like than this...
Someday I'm going to go to Greece. And when I do, I think I'll wear something from Sinful Color's Cast Away collection. It really would be fitting.
Have you been to Greece? Did you see anything there was was the shade of 'Grecian Sun'?

China Glaze's The Hunger Games Will Have You Fall Hook and Line
If you haven't heard about The Hunger Games books, you must live without electricity since it is talked about all over the media. I can now say that I have The Hunger Games on my Kindle Fire and will commence reading it. I don't think I've come across anyone that hasn't read it.
And a big question I'll be looking for is, how do the polish names, from China Glaze's The Hunger Games, match up to the story.
For instance, take a look at this frosty gravender (that's gray and lavender mixed together)...
'Hook and Line' is probably both a frost and a metallic. Is that possible? Ehh, I'd rather just enjoy looking at it. I have 3 coats going on here...
It takes on different shades depending on the light shift. I'm thinking sometimes it is silver, sometimes beige...what color does it look like on you?
I rather like the shades of polish, or any color for that matter, that are hard to pin down. There's quite a number of colors, it could be argued, that this polish could be. OK, I'm done trying to analyze it. I'm going to enjoy it for what it is. I guess I have fallen 'Hook and Line' and sinker.

Harvest Moon: From China Glaze's 'The Hunger Games' Collection
This beautiful polish is not one I would think of as a Spring color. But, it fits in with China Glaze's The Hunger Games collection. Let's take a look...
'Harvest Moon' is a rusty orange/brown color. It is a bit more orange than a true bronze. As you can see in the photos, it has no problem shining, though, unlike real rust...
I only needed 2 coats with 'Harvest Moon', and I'm finding that other polishes from this collection allow me to get away with only 2 coats, with full coverage. Maybe they did that on purpose so you can get back to reading one of the three books in The Hunger Games trilogy.
There are yellow and orange speckles glittering in this one. It is rather dazzling.
I bet this shade would look gorgeous on someone with a tan complexion. I'd consider this as a pedicure color if I was a beach girl.
No need for a top coat. Just apply sunshine and enjoy!
Are you looking forward to 'The Hunger Games' movie?

China Glaze's Riveting from The Hunger Games Collection
Just look at this gorgeous polish, will ya....
Riveting, right? It's supposed to be!! This is from China Glaze's Hunger Games collection. If you haven't heard about this collection, it's probably because you have been off reading one of the three books in that trilogy.
Put on your sunglasses and enjoy...
Three coats and nary a top coat needed. 'Riveting' lived up to its name because I wore this for 3 days and it didn't chip or flake.
This is THE polish I will wear on my toes this summer!
I can't wait to find out how 'Riveting' is linked to 'The Hunger Games'. Is it a spoiler?
This is the 'go to' shade for this season. Are you going to be sporting it too?

China Glaze Serves Up Foie Gras From The Hunger Games
I'm wearing this polish now and I don't know if I can remove it. Well, I have to; there are just too many other cool polishes in China Glaze's 'Hunger Games' collection.
This is the first one I grabbed out of the bag...
And what a winner it is!
This is 'Foie Gras'. As beautiful as the word is, I don't like what it is. Moving on...
'Foie Gras' polish is a creamy milk chocolate color. It makes me what a piece of Godiva chocolate. I have 2 coats on with no top coat. I'm really surprised I got away with just 2 coats. I felt that the polish was on the thick side but it did even out very well.
Getting ready to line up the next shade from the Hunger Games collection, I picked out 'Riveting'. Perfect name for this stunning shimmery orange with a sprinkle of gold flecks...
I felt a compulsion coming over me so I went with it...
Sort of a neh....not something I want as a full manicure. But, at least, I satisfied my curiosity.
Then, came 'Luxe and Lush'. This is one to gush over...
I could have taken hundreds of photos because I love flakies and I love iridescent glitter...
What a wicked combination.
'Luxe and Lush' is a tad gritty. 'Riveting' is totally smooth. Both are shown as one coat. 'Riveting' needs to work alone so, that is the next shade to swatch.
How these polish names match up to the story Hunger Games, I don't know. I'm totally honest when I say that I have not read any of the Hunger Games trilogy. I'll gain no fans but, it doesn't seem like a story line I would be interested in. I think the story sounds like Stephen King's The Running Man and, The Long Walk. However, every time I mention that I have not read the book(s), I'm told that they are really GOOD. OK, using my Kindle Fire, I can borrow the book from Amazon's lending library. I'll read it.
Do you agree that 'Foie Gras' is a rich color? Interesting to see such a dark collection in the spring time, don't you think so?
